New Scholarship Established

The Norman M. Spain Excellence in Ethical Leadership Scholarship has been created to reward Safety, Security and Emergency Management majors who demonstrate principles of integrity and ethical leadership in their personal and business lives.

Dr. Ryan Baggett, Associate Professor in the Department of Safety and Security at Eastern Kentucky University’s College of Justice and Safety has been selected to serve as a member of the 2015 American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) International Research Council.   

Barnard Named New Lexington Police Chief

Mark Barnard has been promoted to Chief of the Lexington Division of Police by Lexington Mayor Jim Gray.  Barnard, who received his master’s degree in Criminal Justice from EKU, had served as the Assistant Chief since 2012.  The College of Justice & Safety named Barnard its Distinguished Alumnus Award recipient in 2014.
