Safety City Receives Donation

Lexington/Bluegrass AAA presented Safety City Director Lisa Conley with a check for $1,000 to be used "in the areas most needed" according to Daniel Wheeler, Public Relations Coordinator for AAA.

Book by Soderstrom and Blevins Published

School of Justice Studies professor Dr. Irina Soderstrom and associate professor Dr. Kristie Blevins have written a “user-friendly statistics and data analysis text” that was recently published by Waveland Press.

Collins’ Book on Crime Against Women Published

Dr. Victoria Collins, Assistant Professor, School of Justice Studies has written a book that,according to the Taylor & Francis Group, a publisher of books and academic journals,“contributes to the established literature on women, gender and crime and the growing research on state crime.”

CJ&S Alum Named EKU’s Executive Director of Public Safety & Risk Management

Bryan Makinen has been selected as the Executive Director, Public Safety & Risk Management for Eastern Kentucky University.  Bryan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Fire and Safety Engineering Technology from Eastern Kentucky University with a major in Industrial Safety and Risk Management and minors in Environmental Health Sciences and Insurance & Risk Management.  Bryan
